It is a major breakthrough in hull design because the more pressure is captured in the tunnels, the higher the boat rises out of the water, the faster it goes and the less draft it has. In simple terms, the M-hull generates bow wave like any other boat. However, it recaptures that wave immediately with its side skirting and forces it spiraling through the tunnels. As the water mixes with air it creates a cushion to push the hull higher out of the water, and thus reduces drag, increases speed, suppresses wake and cushions the ride with less slamming and rolling.
